Artist’s Statement

I was an artist before I was anything else, and I have been many things. Some good, some bad, some merely foolish and some awful. But whatever the path, art brought me home. When the job was something else entirely there would be an element of the art buried within. After many wrong turns art and I found an outlet in construction. My details and touches are found in some exceptional homes on Martha’s Vineyard, Key West, Austin, Texas and Los Angeles. Since leaving the construction industry my focus has been art for the sake of art. Not because of anyone’s wishes but my own. Not for money, just for the love of creating something beautiful. I am my first critic and I hope that you find whatever moved me in the first place to share my work also moves you and brings some joy and wonder.

Deconstructed Wing number 6

All teak functional sculpture. Every feather (too many to count) hand carved and sanded. Pieced together with hand carved dowels. the base opens for precious storage. this is the most challenging piece of my collection and the time involved in making this was beyond what I could keep track of.
